These are all pictures Tanner has taken. He has become quite the photographer. I am going to print some of the pictures he has taken and make a collage of pictures in our home. That will suffice, until we can move closer to nature.

On our way from Asia to Italy

Got you huh! The Asian mural is what is hanging on my living room wall right now. Lately I am feeling more Italian. So I have decided to paint a Tuscany, Italy painting. Don't worry the Asian mural is going to end up in another room of the house, they are too beautiful not to hang. They were actually given to us by Miguel's friend that he used to work with, who is from Vietnam. The lighter colors on the hanging are made out of mother of pearl.
I don't know if they way I paint is correct, I just wanted to show its progression.

Oil Painting

These are some oil paintings that I have done in the past. I am not the greatest painter, but I try. I took painting classes about 8 years ago for a couple of months. Most of these I have done on my own, as you can probably tell. As you can see, I went through an animal phase. I am considering selling some of these paintings because they are just collecting dust in my home. Maybe? However the cute boy below is not for sell, he never sits still long enough to collect dust, and besides that I like him!!

Creatively STARVED!!!!!

I don't know if you know this about me or not, but I have to have some new and different project in my life to feel alive. I NEED to sew something, paint something, make something, CREATE something to feel like a human being who can function. I know this is a "little" or maybe "A LOT" dramatic, but I am BORED, BORED, BORED I TELL YOU!!!!!!!!! Not because I have nothing to do, I have TOO MUCH to do, but all of it is mundane BORING stuff that has no purpose or meaning behind it, besides the fact that we do want to live in a somewhat clean home.
So.........this is my plan. Right now in my living room we have sortof an Asian theme going on. I have decided it is time to go to Tuscany!!! Yes, Italy!! I am going to take down our beautiful Asian mural hangings and paint a picture of Tuscany. I have done oil painting in the past, and it is high time I do another. It has been way too long. See.... I feel better already. Just thinking about painting is starting to help. Now I just have to find a picture that I can look at, so I can paint a picture. I am not good enough yet to paint a picture from a photograph. I will take before and after pictures to let you all know how it turns out. I just know you will be waiting on pins and needles until that time.

Tanner's new room

Tanner wants me to write about him. So I will.

For part of his Christmas we are re-doing his room. He thinks he has grown out of his "little boy" room, just because he is 13 now. Tanner and Logan and I took off the wallpaper. Then we primed parts of his walls. I then painted the whole room. It took us about 6 hours from start to finish, which really isn't that bad, considering all we accomplished. Tanner is going to paint some abstract art on the walls. He is a good artist, so I know it will look great. After Christmas I am going to make him some new curtains also.

I may do Emeralds room later. I would like to do some canvas paintings with her, to hang on her walls.

The only problem with all of this is, it STINKS. The paint smell is still lingering. We have had Tanner's door closed and his window opened to air it out, but it is still too smelly for him to sleep in there.

I enjoy doing projects like this. It is nice to have a change.
